Just checked out this website. The only fur coats listed are definitely from Grandma.

Get a fur vest made from one of them.

You can have them remade into stuffed animals or other articles of clothing, etc. there a whole market devoted to this if you look online. Still it will cost money to have them converted. Do you have any nieces you could pass them down to?

I’m having a similar issue — my MIL died. Now I have two and they don’t fit me. So. They sit in the closet bc I can’t just throw them away

If they are in a good shape, consign or donate them. People buy vintage furs.

If they are not in a good shape, maybe post them on buy nothing. People who are into crafts might take them for various projects.

OP here, thanks for the suggestions. No bragging or virtue signaling here. I’m a guy, I have no use for fur coats. Just wondering how to get rid of them. Still, it’s DCUM, so I figured there would be some snark along with a smattering of useful answers. Lots of unhappy people out there, myself included.

The animals are already dead, like 50 years ago. just wear them.

I wear them. Could they be passed down? I wore mine to Christmas and NYE parties and wasn't the only person doing so. Sadly all my grandma's furs were much too big for me or I would have loved them.

I don't think anyone is feigning ignorance. Either you wear it or you give it away. It's not like OP purchased a new fur.

I would wear them. It's like thrifting but you have fond memories while wearing it, and it's free.

I have to clear out my mother’s wardrobes. I figured I’d give it all to some charity or other, but I don’t think anyone wants furs in this day and age. Any suggestions? Cut them up for rags or dusters? I’m guessing they were purchased maybe 50 years ago.
