And the "getting used to" also goes the other way. You'll get used to your new home, and after the initial bump to your happiness, your happiness will go back to base line - it's not going to make you happier long term.
In fact, I remember reading something that the NUMBER ONE way to increase your long term, baselines happiness is to shorten your commute.
You've got four kids. Hard enough to spend enough time with them (I have three, and 1:1 time always seems in short supply). Don't increase your commute.
