My experience is that the Arlington, GFR, and VYS RL teams are normally in the range of the mid-table GA teams and a decent step up from GA-Aspire. So if you can get her on one of those I'd do it.

Aspire and ECNL RL are a good step up coming from NCSL. If she gets better, she could then make a ECNL or GA team, all depending on her goals.

. You could say that the rankings app does not capture teams that play kick ball, park the bus, in order to achieve wins, but don’t develop. I get it, but those teams should lose out over the wrong run to teams that develop. So, really what you are saying is that we should only be looking at is the rankings at the top years, those that have prioritized development over winning at the younger ages…. And I would agree. What are the consistent better teams at the older ages, those that have promoted development properly? Then again, there is a lot of movement at the older ages to those clubs that recruit better, which also tends to be the clubs that develop better. So what is the answer other than sending kids to the teams that recruit better? Find the clubs that win better at the older age groups, not the younger, and find the ones that recruit better. That is the answer. Anything else is nonsense.

STJ will likely be in Aspire soon and they practice near you.

VA Revolution has GA Aspire and Valor has ECNL-RL.

A lot of these teams are very fluid. Better kids leave and a lot of good kids try out for the 1st teams, but reject 2nd team slots. They usually are more dynamic in term of rosters then the 1st teams. Most Coaches would happily let a kid come to an Aspire or RL practice vs 1st team practice without some kind of pedigree already established by U15. Try a few clubs to see the fit/ feel of the kids, coach and club.

My daughter (U14) currently plays in NCSL and wants to play in ECNL-RL or GA Aspire next year. We live in Eastern Loudoun for reference. A few questions:

- outside of Sterling/Herndon what options does she have? GFR and Loudoun are the 2 I’m aware of.
- we have only shown up at tryouts previously, but I believe we should do things differently for these teams. Is this when we’re supposed to email teams and ask to practice with them? Any tips?
