My kid did AP Physics 1 as a junior and then AP Bio and AP Chem as a senior. Hrs an engineering major and skipped out of Chem (using his AP credit). But he decided to retake Physics 1 (despite having AP credit), since it is more important for his engineering discipline.

Was that a lot of work then senior year?

Oakton no longer offers honors physics. Why? It’s either regular or AP Physics 1.

My kid is a bio major and wanted to have a grade in AP Bio to show on college apps, so she took that junior year and did AP Physics 1 as a senior (our school no longer offers Honors Physics or she’d have considered it as an alternative).

Did anyone’s DC do AP Chem junior year and AP Bio/Physics senior year?

He’ll get through it.

Our school does not offer AP Physics 1, so my kid did AP Chem junior year for the extra GPA bump and then did AP Bio and honors physics together senior year.

I did AP Physics 1, and that was hard!

Fortunately I got a 5 on my exam.

I did hear that regular and honors physics is much easier as it involves less advanced calculations.

I think if your kids want to do physics, they will survive it.

What about AP Chem junior year and then AP Bio and physics senior year?

My DD decided to do AP Bio in Junior Year and save honors Physics for senior year. I don't know if that's the right decision, but we will see. It felt like, time-wise, AP Bio would take up more time, and she could use that for applications senior year. I'm curious to hear from others, though.

Junior year is tough - and so is Physics. But good to have it done and dusted before applications.
My senior took IB Enironmental Science senior year -- not too heavy of a lift and almost enjoyable.

What's better--physics in Junior year or Senior year?
