It's pretty insane. If you said "Hey, I'm going to a wedding and three months ago I went to a wedding with some of the same crowd, do you think wearing the same dress is weird" I'd say that wasn't insane.
We're not talking about three months. We're talking about three years.

I have unique clothes (from vintage, long-gone collections) that I wear several times a year, every year. Some of them are highly recognizable because they have unusual embroidery, cuts or patterns.
It's OK for someone to recognize an item. It's good! It means you take care of your clothes and love them enough to re-wear them. They're quality and stand the test of time.
Throw-away clothes are the worst.

Fast fashion wasn't a thing until recently so people used to invest more into their clothing and repair it more.

I wouldn’t remember a LBD but might remember if the dress were unusual or striking in such way, such as it has a bold pattern or unusual cut. And I also wouldn’t judge you if I did recall the dress.

Probably not an LBD. That's one of the beauties of a great LBD, you can wear it to so many things -- it's a dress to be worn over and over.
I would probably remember a dress that was "different," or that stood out in some way. If it were red or teal or yellow or something, or had sequins, or a mandarin collar, etc....

I wouldn’t go as far as to say I look spectacular, but it just fits perfectly and makes me feel good when I wear it. People compliment the dress, not necessarily me.

Only if it made any sort of impression in the first place. If it was understated or otherwise unremarkable, probably not.
