She’s rich, poor, gay, straight, a socialist, a renter, a blogger, a woman of color.
Plus you get a twofer: Her husband, former ANC and secret agent Stuart Karrafa.

That’s damning by faint praise if I’ve ever seen it. 😆

She has tons of experience in government and is actually involved in our community. Many long-term residents have known her for years. Unlike a Rashida, she is NOT endorsed by Nadeau and seems reasonable, calling further things like affordable housing, but also safer/cleaner streets so that people can raise a family here. We will see how candidates position themselves when the election is closer, but being endorsed by Nadeau is not a plus for many in the neighborhood who witnessed the decline of our neighborhood due to Nadeau’s policies, along with his dismissive attitude.

She has presided over the increasing downward spiral of Columbia Heights, after the DC government poured millions into it in the early 2000s. Her decriminalization of street vending has directly contributed to the massive shoplifting and the fact that even items like toothpaste are now locked behind glass all over Ward 1. She has cared not a whit for her constituents kept awake at all hours by the illegal ATVers---her milquetoast suggestion was that they needed to "soundproof" their apartments. I will vote for anyone who is willing to say that her policy positions have been disastrous.

Change my mind.
