DS took IB Math Application HL and was admitted to UVA in STEM. It won’t stop you from being admitted.

Yeah previous poster is withholding information. My kid did 2years SL in the IBDP and was fully competent to take Calculus in college. Got into several selective colleges.

Analysis HL is like Calc AB + Stats

Apps is lower level than Analysis, for students who are weaker in math.

Can you elaborate on this? Even if they are doing the diploma route do good colleges basically consider at least AP Calc AB level (or comparable) a must have? Is Analysis similar hardness to this or instead closer in hardness to Calc BC?

DC was planning on applications for next year and is not likely going to be a STEM major but is Calc experience kind of required for all kids?

DS's in Algebra 2H now, Marshall HS. Wants to go into engineering. Should he pursue Apps or Analysis? Which one covers PreCalc/Calc?
