No idea. Could be some 99th don’t have good grades. Could be people lie on this board or troll Gonzaga.

At schools like SJC, DeMatha or Gonzaga, it’s a combo of HSPT scores, teacher recs, grades, essays and other factors like extracurriculars and dedication to service. The higher the HSPT score, the better chance of qualifying for merit scholarships but that alone does not guarantee you $$$. I have known kids with 90-95 HSPT scores who got merit money, and some with a 96-99 who did not.

98/99% here and no merit.

Many of the Catholic high schools have merit scholarships

It doesn’t work like that. Most schools don’t do merit and if they do, a test score alone is not enough.

What is the typical score on the HSPT that gets Merit money?
