For affluent domestic students, I don’t think it’s typically going to move the needle at any of the top colleges they’re targeting as it’s kind of pay to play. But it won’t hurt and might help at need aware schools or if you distinguish yourself at program. For a lower income student receiving financial aid, I’d definitely go for it.
