My parents did this for me. They frozen items in individual servings in little Tupperware. Then I could just throw them in the microwave to reheat. My favorites were pasta with sauce and meatballs, beef stroganoff, chicken noodle soup and split pea soup.

Frozen we did stuffed shells and egg bites.

My kid also has a sport so she took mini quest protein bars, almond packs, and protein shakes to keep on hand. She can eat one on her tight walk between class and practice.

Presuming they are all guys

Do they have a microwave?

Frozen breakfast sandwiches - you can make these yourself or buy boxes of them

Hot dog buns and packages of hot dogs

Loaves of bread, bagels, deli cheese and deli ham etc.

Cheese sticks, Saltines, Peanut butter

I guarantee they will go through them

Nice idea. Soups, chili, lasagna would be great. Cake cut in cubes or muffins. I have gingerbread cake left over from the holidays and froze it in cubes - it’s a dense cake and it actually comes out great

We made several different soups. Bagged them in one serving bags and frozen them flat

DD could then after thawing, add any toppings or additional fresh vegetable after heating have it with her choice of bread.

A quick meal

Thanks for these ideas, and the hamburger one below it!

I’m not asking for you to predict what my son likes. I’m asking for ideas for freezer friendly, dorm friendly food to send back to college- and what are types of foods people send with their kids at college. For example, maybe in one’s experience my idea of lasagna is ridiculous in a dorm, and cookies/brownies are the way to go. For the life of me I don’t understand why people respond to threads like you did - if you don’t like the question, just move on.

I have had good experience with cooking hamburgers on the grill, wrapping them individually in seran and placing them in a freezer bag. You could also cook off turkey burgers. Add in a package of buns.

DS is a freshman, and lives in a suite with a small kitchen and refrigerator/freezer. He’s leaving to go back for second semester and I thought I would send him with some homemade food that he can put in the freezer and pull out for a pick me up. I’m looking for ideas!

I could do cookies, but was thinking maybe protein muffins or an actual meal like lasagna might be more enjoyable? DS plays a spring sport if that matters (so I’m thinking a pre-practice snack?).
