Same here! I am not sold Michigan is the right fit for my DS (a great school but so large) and while he was disappointed in Dec, I think he's in a great place now and can wait to choose from all the places that accept him EA and RD before committing. But seems like a miss on Michigan's end not to bind him (and the others accepted today) in ED.

My kid is local, public school, accepted to LSA.

DS said 4 kids from his school got in. 2 boys and 1 girl who were deferred ED, and 1 girl EA.

ED —> Deferred—> accepted
Maybe UMich is just trying to take an ED app away from competitors.

Deferred initially, submitted continued interest statement before Xmas.

Yes, submitted ECI but I see on reddit that some who got accepted today hadn't yet submitted it.

Perhaps they didn’t have enough time to review all the good applications carefully before the committed ED release date? But does it mean it’s not binding for your kid now?

My ED deferred kid did not hear. For the person that got an acceptance after deferral, did you submit the ECI? Congrats!

Just heard abt 2 boys who were deferred ED got in.

Heard a wave of decisions were released today, mine still has not heard. Does anyone know the timeline for release(s)?
