I don’t know anything about that website, but if you’re willing you read old books whose copyright has expired, you can access them for free on project Gutenberg.
Also, Kindle has free reads available. They tend to be series starters, books by new authors, older books whose copyright has expired, etc. You can access a list of free bestsellers in desktop mode (it isn’t available in mobile mode) here:

It's a pirate site. Totally illegal.
Our libraries have multiple free options for borrowing ebooks legitimately: Libby, Hoopla, and Freeding come to mind. I'm sure there are more!

I tried to look this up but haven't got a good answer. I'm unsure how you can just read free books online like that but I don't want to do anything illegal. Is it safe to use does anyone else use this site?
