What are match match match pajamas?

Half the kids at school are in pajama pants! I don't think it means anything. No idea why he is linking pajamas and being queer but if he wants certain pajamas and you normally buy his clothes, then buy the pajamas he wants.

OP are the ones he wants expensive?

It's odd this is a big deal to him.

I think I would have more of a conversation about that.

I think your 16 year old should be able to pick out whatever type of pajamas they want to wear.

PJs are a fashion fad going on now. All kids are wearing them. They have no meaning. Just like jeans was a fashion.

I think it is weird that your son wants a set of pajamas and you don't just buy them. Who cares if they match?

We are painfully straight-laced and hetero in my family, and wear real pajamas, which means a matching set made specifically for bed. None of us have had anything other than that, except me: I have the prettiest of frilly nightgowns. I know. Shoot me.

What I would do is look at him with a twinkle in my eye, and say: "Is this the first of a long line of asks that you are going to tie into your new identity, by hook or by crook?" And then buy it for him, because he's a nice kid and he's your precious one, but vow not to fall for that too many times.

DS 16 recently came out to us as being queer, of course we support him 100%! Also he wants new pajamas. I’d not have imagined the two matters as being one post, but here’s the situation. I say that he doesn’t need match-match-match pajamas (which are the kind he wants). Firstly those are for a younger demographic in my view. Secondly I don’t see an issue why wearing baggy shirts with pajama pants or underwear (which is what he’s currently doing). Thirdly, he gets an allowance, he can save up and buy these pajamas if he feels so inclined. However, he’s implied that to him matching pajamas are a part of him expressing his queer. He has not done this in a confrontational way (he hasn’t said anything like, “if you don’t buy these you’re homophobic”), he’s just said that they feel more like him. Should I buy them? Is this a thing in the LGBTQ+ community? Sorry if this comes across weird or invasive, I’m a middle-aged cishet lady with a lot to learn lol. Thanks!
