Following. They all have such a strong smell! I don’t get it. Why is all the added fragrance necessary?

The main thing about hair is that it varies HUGELY and nobody on the internet can tell you the right products for her. If it’s air drying curly, the gel and her scrunching technique probably matters a lot more than detangler.

Take her to a curly hair salon and they can show her how to do it. She’ll probably still have to keep experimenting, but it’s a start. A curly cut will help too.

That said, as a person who doesn’t like smells, aveda and innersense are good brands for me. They’re scented but it’s mild and fades away.

Cecred. It’s expensive but good.

Aveda smooth infusion works well for me and has a very mild scent.

I agree that it’s a great product but to me it has a strong smell. It smells good, but I can smell it on my daughter’s hair even when I’m not super close.

She needs to wear it braided. Thick textured hair left loose will tangle.

My daughter (10) and I have the same hair. We’ve tried all the kid stuff for her and nothing works. She now uses my kerastase discipline. It only takes a couple sprays and works miracles.

Leave in conditioners are good. I got some for at the hair salon but I can’t find it and don’t remember the name of it. It worked so well and I paid about $70, so annoyed. A lot of money but so worth it because it worked beautifully. Ask at your local salon. They usually have ones that you wouldn’t think of or you’ve never heard of.

Conditioner can only do so much to keep thick/wavy/curly/long hair from getting tangled. She should put her hair in braids after detangling and to sleep or consider cutting it shorter. Blow drying straight may also help.

Does she have a wet brush? she should use that in the shower.

I am guessing you have straight, manageable hair? please dont make her feel bad about her curly hair. stop trying to "tame" it.

My daughter has very thick wavy hair that gets insanely tangled. She combs conditioner through it in the shower, but it’s tangled 20 minutes later. Brushing her hair before school is a long, painful process. What type of detangler/conditioner will help? She doesn’t love strong scents.
