I’m glad my child knocked it out over the summer (Econ/Personal finance). Now this summer we are focusing on SAT Prep and he can take a real elective in place of that requirement.

That meets VA state requirement?

Yes, it does. We got an email about it at the beginning of the year — it meets the requirement AND you get college credit. That’s said, it was much more time-consuming than the regular course.

It frees up time for other electives. If your child is into music and/or theater, they need the extra space. Also, some kids REALLY HATE PE and would rather do it on their own time.

Usually 11th grade once the HPE requirement is fulfilled. However, students can take it 10-12 grade.

And summer online PE was $510 for my other child. I was surprised at the difference in cost. Even considering that Personal Finance is asynchronous.

I took it as an FCPS student not to long ago and there was a fee.

Anything outside of what they teach in schools requires a fee.

I did this twice with PE and then again with Spanish 3.

I also know a classmate who took a Math Class over the summer, and she too had a fee.
