Most brokerage account websites figure this out and show you growth.

18% up, mostly due to retirement contributions and growth. We moved earlier this year and spent a lot of cash to make it happen.

almost exactly 20%. Value of house remained the same, all from increased savings and investing while pulling back on spending.

Robo-advisor (Wealthfront): 17.6% up.
This is in an aggressive portfolio: 50% US equities, 10% crypto (which was down 7% in 2025), 18% foreign large cap, 15% emerging markets, then a bit of bonds. They do automate tax-loss harvesting which I did not factor in.

Financial advisor-managed funds: 18.7% up when including dividends, 16.9% if not. This is a less aggressive portfolio, with no crypto. 16% US large cap, 17% US value, 10% emerging markets, 15% int'l markets, then small bits in various types of bonds, precious metals, reinsurance, real estate, etc.

Stocks from 3.9 to about 4.6 or 4.7.

Home value probably down (?) from 725 to 675. Rough numbers. I never really consider home value/equity, though. It doesn’t generate earnings. It only matters for
1) imputed rent (it means that we don’t pay rent for shelter)

2) relative to other houses that we may want to upgrade to when kids are all grown (i.e., if coastal north or South Carolina outpaces Virginia exurbs, we’re falling a little behind in that regard)

I’m seeing that mine went up just under 10 percent last year. The market went up a solid 16 percent, but home equity was flat according to Zillow (primary residence is in DC and if anything the value of our home dropped slightly).

Bummer?
