I follow so many of these accounts- sorry, I can’t find it or I’d link it. But Eagle Scout is super hard, shows years of dedication and work. I would agree that it’s gotta be a boost!


Thanks for responding, was just curious to see everything they mentioned. Have a friend with an Eagle Scout, I know it’s a long path.

Now one can really say. It probably depends on the school and how impactful the project was, if it’s described.

Absolutely helps at selective schools, as it’s pretty obscure and shows a long path to get there.

Is this a mom of an Eagle Scout or a member of an ivy admissions team?

Absolutely helps at selective schools, as it’s pretty obscure and shows a long path to get there.

It doesn't do much. My twin boys were both Eagle Scouts. One is at Villanova, the other Tulane.

Google says that Mississippi State and Southern Miss do, as well, in addition to Ole Miss.

A few schools offer small scholarships for Eagle Scout or Gold Award. The only one that I recall is Ole Miss.

It’s still a helpful thing to have on there. It represents leadership skills, longevity in an activity, etc. I’d list the Eagle designation as an honor and scouting in general as an EC.
