OP, what is wrong with you? You’re posting in the Special Needs forum because your nephew likes to sleep with extra blankets? Who are you to attempt to diagnose this kid?

Have his parents asked for advice? Is the child behaving in ways that you cannot handle?
NO.

You come off as an immature gossip. I feel bad for this kid whose rude aunt is going to be watching him for any and all behaviors that will confirm her notions that he has a disability.

He might like a weighted blanket.

Thankfully I did not have anything in my mouth. Otherwise I would have spit it out from laughing while reading this. 😂😂😂

He's probably on the spectrum (with ADHD or not, it's the autism that makes people feel the need for light pressure).

Tell his parents to get him a weighted blanket, so he doesn't sweat and dehydrate every night.

This. The weight is comforting.

My audhd son loves a lot of blankets on his bed since early ages. There are like 8 blankets and 30 stuff animals on his full size bed. He is surrounded by all stuffed animals and he wears 2 layers (shirt plus hoodie) to sleep plus covered under maybe 3 to 4 blankets. That makes him sleep better and he says he is cold. He went to a summer camp with 2 blankets and a long sleeve jacket to sleep with.

Mine likes a lot of blankets around him, not on him; it feels cozy. This is a really odd thing to assume.

I like a heavy blanket and comforter. Why is this an issue?

My nephew is staying with us this week and he requested as many blankets as we can provide. As in like 5 or 6. Our house is 70 degrees and we’ve even offered to raise it in his guest room but he said the temp is fine. He said he does this at home too. I don’t think he runs cold because he doesn’t even like to wear a jacket outside. Is there something about the weight of that many blankets he likes?
