Yes, the new owners are from the Swiss Bakery and it has changed a lot... they really should have changed the name.

Gustave in Del Ray has authentic pain au chocolat (chocolate croissants ) and other pastries but I haven’t tried their plain croissants.

If you want less traditional croissants, Yellow is great (Union Market location— though Georgetown location is good too). Bonus because Bread Alley is across the street, which has some of the best loaves in DC.
