The nostalgia movies from the 80’s and 90’s are mainly meant for teens, we have been caught off guard by some of what is in those movies ourselves. I was older then 9 when most of the movies I remember fondly came out but they feel younger to me then they really are.

We explained what was said factually. So yes, we would explain what a hand job was to our son. The reality is we spent a decent amount of time when he was 4-5 telling him to take his hands out of his pants so he already knew the concept, it now had a name. Just tell your kid what it is and explain that it is meant to be done by consenting adults and that they should immediately tell you if anyones asks them to give them one.

My 9 year old daughter asked “what’s a hand job” after hearing the term on tv (I thought a tween 90s movie was a good idea—oooops.).

How would you answer this question for a 9 year old? I want to hear from others before revealing what I said (which I think was a mediocre response).
