I’m finishing up #29 and hoping to hit 30 by Thursday night. Sadly, I did not break last year’s record of 32.

To answer the question. Obviously.

My new years resolution is to keep track. I'd say about 150? Until I retired in June, reading books was part of my job. I now have time to read what I want.

I don’t listen to audiobooks (I don’t have a dog in the fight of whether that’s considered reading or not but I do know my number is lower than people who include audiobooks) and I like big fat dense nonfiction that takes a long time to get through so even though I read a lot I don’t think my number especially conveys it. My nonfiction hyperfixations this year were the wives of Henry VIII, the Romanov family, and the Vietnam War and Civil War. Best novels I read were probably North Woods and Beautyland .

In the 50s. Usually I’m in the 80s or 90s but got hit with a surprise divorce and my concentration is shot and it turns out that documentation and litigation take a sh-t ton of time.

Loser STBX takes 18 months to read a single book, so ultimately this is for the best. Never trust a non-reader.
