Buy American. What are you whining about?

I agree with PPs that you should just buy from the U.S. company for ease, plus presumably the ability to pay by credit card rather than international wire.

But a quick google search shows that the tariff for medical devices from Germany is probably 15%, not 40% as a PP suggested.

Buy from teh US supplier. It'll be too much hassle for you to try to get the tariff back, but the US company may be successful given their volume and $ at stake (not that they'll pass it on to you, but at least then someone is getting the tariff back).

For $889 you get device no international shipping and easy credit card clawback if it doesn't arrive.

Pay the US based company and move on. Chasing the idea of tariff possibly being reversed seems challenging

If I pay German manufacturer directly, its cost the separate price paid for tariff
And shipping.

Or I go through US company and it’s all one price plus $40 and they are silent on tariff.

Dh says if tariffs are reversed, going through German company may mean chance for refund. Any one better than the other?
