Are you using the spray function on your faucet? My husband lives it but I hate it because water gets everywhere.

But this is why I didn’t put a sink in my island. I just hate that I’d constantly be worried about papers getting wet because our island is in constant use.

This happens at my work sink and I am convinced it’s a combo of high pressure from the faucet and a shallow sink. Could either of those be your issues! We have a super deep kitchen sink at home and there’s no splashing.

FWIW - our sink is not in our island and we have the same issue. We must just be splashy people, but I’m constantly mopping up the water around and behind the faucet with a sponge.

That's a great suggestion, didn't know about this. Have you tried it?

There's no leak. It's from the splashing as we do the dishes, and also our hands moving around to adjust the temperature, turn the faucet on and off, and putting the sponge down or adding soap to the sponge.

Is the faucet leaking or are you putting the water there with your hands while doing dishes (like because you are adjusting water temp or pressure)?

Not normal.
Call the contractor who did it.

You could try a mat like this around the faucet. Presumably it would catch some of the water.

Do you mean the water pools on the counter? I think it’s a faucet issue, either where it is placed or the arc of the spout. Lots of online suggestions depending the particular issue.

We just remodeled our kitchen and we have a sink in the island for the first time. Oh My God how much water pools around it every time we do dishes. Is this normal? What can we do about it other than soak through a million towels every day?
