Neighbors seem really nice - they're all retired or empty nesters (we're not but we have no children). Got an invite a few weeks ago for a neighborhood Christmas party that's tonight 12/20 and I RSVP'd us 'yes' without looking at the invite in more detail - and that's totally my fault. Essentially, I just read the first line to bring a dish to share or dessert, which I am doing. I happened to look at the e-vite again this afternoon and scrolling down, it says 'no children due to adult themes, language and possible nudity.) And you're encouraged to wear an ugly Christmas sweater.
Nudity?? At a Christmas party? This whole thing doesn't seem to be my vibe - or DH's. We hardly know these people and even if we did, I am just not into this kind of thing, whatever it may be.
Party starts at 7 tonight. What do you think this entails? This could be that they have a tendency to use foul language after a few drinks and just don't want kids there?
Frankly, I would rather just lay on the couch tonight and watch Hallmark movies, especially after reading more into the invite. I'm not a party person and neither is DH. I also tend to be quiet at these kinds of things, especially when I don't know anyone. Looks like 60 people RSVP'd yes.
thoughts?
Which Subreddit did you steal this from? Is it a porno treatment?
