Questbridge in theory is fine but has grown out of control.

What were the stats that got those kids into Rice?

No clue. They saw it on the school's IG.

Except Brown took many from the waitlist, so not really.

Last year was atypical, normally a very small number off waitlist. Not sure why their numbers were off that led to that.

Our private got at least one into Cornell, that is pretty typical. Will be a few more in spring.

Nobody knows this year. It’s only ED. My kid’s year they took only 15 WL

True but I think the schools consider it in terms of how many spots they allocate to early vs RD round

This year is def a full pay = advantage year whether ED, EA, RD. Budgets are hurting due to maggot infestations.

It's the best year in recent memory at many top privates.

Take Rice as an example, ED1 round this year they took 30% Questbridge alone, "the largest [Questbridge] cohorts ever from those admission pools". Then there are other hooked applicants. Not so many seats left for unhooked applicants.

I think Cornell may be doing the same. We got zero ED admit this year to Cornell. Unusual.

Better chance at RD?
