Nope. They are total morons.

We buried my father-in-law this week. He was, through his work, a really great man who did a lot of good in the world. I got to meet some of the people he touched positively at the funeral. He was also a loving father, incredibly funny, and always welcomed me with open arms. I miss him a lot.

My mother-in-law is unbelievably generous and has treated me as part of the family basically ever since I followed my husband home from college twenty years ago. She has her faults, and we've fought from time to time, but I love her.

They got an apartment and moved cross country to help take us care of our newborn for 2 years. They are amazing!!!

I loved mine but they’ve both passed away. Makes me sad.

Not the reason I like them, but I appreciate that they moved to be closer to their kids and grandkids.

They are generous and kind people who have been a great help to us. And they rigorously care for their own health and finances, which I appreciate more as I age.

Do they annoy me in little ways, sure. Do I see their parenting errors reflected in their adult kids, sure. I can be annoyed sometimes and still feel lucky to have them.

They made sure my DH got orthodontia, even when they were broke.

They are very welcoming and laid back. Honestly I'm less stressed visiting them than my own mother. They aren't pushy, respect boundaries, are kind and considerate, and have always treated me like I was part of their family. I have no complaints

Yes! They live far far away, it makes it easy to love them.

My mother in law is the best! She treats me like the daughter she never had.

Both my in laws and my ex in laws are amazing people. Very different but they love the best they can. I don’t see my ex ones much, but they are super nice people.

Married 20+ years. I love my in-laws like they are my own family.
