Silver Creek parent here. Question - do teachers have assignments that you can't make up next week if you miss? Or is it just makeup work (which is what it appears to be at Silver Creek). My kid will be at BCC next year so always good to check.

If there's no instruction (or just a review), no test to make-up, and nothing of note going on at her club, she prefers staying home. She has a ton of APs and extra-curriculars, and this is a way of managing her time and protecting her mental health. I think it's great. My oldest never dared ask.
