First part sounds like bad installation

I had Marmoleum click too and no problems with it coming apart

Did have slight warping of the tiles close to sink, not too noticeable but yes need to clean spills promptly

So here's my related question. Does anyone know of vinyl floor or carpet brands that do NOT have phthalates or other chemicals?
Or have suggestions for substitutes of other kinds of floors that are more natural but also easy to get and not crazy expensive?
I see this Home Depot brand advertised as phthalate-free. Is it really?
I was thinking of getting vinyl floors in my basement that look like wood, with carpeting in a basement bedroom.
