I am close enough to see the impact behind the scenes. Besides, they disclose their accounting right in the schedule:

Disclosure: Copa Talento is a self-funded non-profit and to help alleviate some of the operational costs, there will be an admission fee of $20 per day for parents and non-players 12 years old and over. There will be no admission fee for players and coaches and there will be no parking fee.

No different than private school tuition not covering the full cost of the operations which you only discover when become part of the operation.

Location recently changed from Va to Md. Schedule has been released.

A number of teams dropped out which may be why so delayed.

Does anyone know if they have posted the tournament schedules?
