My kid was accepted to summer semester with a 3.9 weighted and 1370 SAT. Health issues influenced their lower gpa which was explained in common app. Also got $9K in merit aid.

UTK is an ugly campus. Right up there with OSU. But they have rabid football culture!

What was her test score?
I have a freshman there who is very happy. It seems as though it has gotten a lot more competitive in just one year. Hoping you get good news in the Spring.

Did she submit a test score?

Son was accepted at TN with a scholarship - 4.3 W, 33 ACT, 9 AP/DE, but surprisingly deferred at Clemson. I am hearing that there have been a lot of unexpected TN deferrals. TN does not normally defer this much. Applications are up at all these hot SEC schools which makes for a very completive incoming class.

They have had enrollment management issues in recent years. This isn’t surprising.

Yes, my son was deferred too. So weird. I think it is a trendy school right now.
