A congratulations banner with a deferral letter is awful. I’m so sorry to hear that happened to your student. What a rollercoaster this college admissions process is!

I know a rejected legacy and a deferred legacy - both have parent(s) who are very involved and consistent donors but not big $$$.

Any sense of how many ED students Duke defers? And how many deferrals they tend to take in the RD round?

Apparently schools differ quite a bit on this. I just saw someone say Pomona only defers 10% of ED.
