I was in line at the cheese shop in Eastern Market and the guy in front of me was buying a bag of chips that was like $15. The employee was saying "I know it seems crazy to pay $15 for a bag of chips but somehow these are actually worth it."
Don't remember the brand but I imagine if you go there and ask for the $15 chips they'll be happy to sell them to you.

I like to go to a British shop and get the crisps they sell - Tomato and ketchup? Prawn cocktail? Yes, please

+1 and oregano chips in Greece.
Why don't we get nice flavors?

World Market would also be my way to go. I checked online and they have some unusual flavors like Scallop flavored and Guiness flavored. Even if they're weird it's kind of fun to try something totally different. When I travel I sometimes like to try the flavors we don't get in the US like Roast Chicken (mostly just tastes like herbs). When I lived in Ireland for a summer as a student I got briefly obsessed with Mature cheddar and red onion chips.
I personally am not a fan of some of the "fancy" kettle chips because they're kind of thick. Everyone has different preferences, though.

I LOVE potato chips. David Muir, ABC, had a spot on his "Made in America" segment this week about some fancy chips...you might be able to find by googling. Otherwise, Nantucket chips are great as are some Utz specialty ones. I grew up in Cincy...Grippos + Hussman's are excellent too.

I love Nantucket Crisps! Many good flavors like hot honey and Jamaican Jerk. They are my favorite at the moment - the right amount of flavor and crunch.

I like this idea. Whenever we travel with the kids, we like to stop in local supermarkets and have the kids try local snacks. I think a gift basket with different types of unusual chips would be fun. You can also try H-Mart.

The ones in the tin can are good but not worth $50. I bought them in Spain for $22 and felt silly.

I love love love chips and would love to try anything as long as it's good/different. They have much better chips in Europe. I've heard Smith's in australia are good.
Right now I'm obsessed with these:

I know this is a little silly, but I want to buy someone who loves potato chips some Mike of gourmet potato chips for Christmas. I’ve seen bonilla ala vista potato chips in tin cans as one example, but I’m wondering if anyone’s had them and they’re any good and if there’s another brand/product/potato chip gift I should get instead. Any ideas would be welcome!
