I just flew delta last weekend. If you're planning on bringing carryon luggage, then definitely do it. Our flight was full, and my zone 6 boarding resulted in me having to check my carryon because the overhead bins were full.
I just flew Delta Comfort on a 3-hour flight last week. It was expensed, wouldn’t normally do it on my own dime. The Zone 3 boarding was nice but I otherwise didn’t care. I’d save the money.

I would do it for $35- I almost always take the economy plus option for the legroom, faster boarding and not having to worry about space for carry on luggage, and faster deplaning. I sometimes get the free drinks but not that often since I usually need to drive when I arrive.

You also get offered better snacks and free booze in Delta Comfort, if that matters to you.

Why not. Early boarding is better.

Boarding early during the holiday season is a big win for space for any carry on luggage.
Just get the credit card, you get free checked bag and board in the first economy group. No annual fee the first year, and you get the bonus miles.

I wouldn’t do it for a 3 hr flight but my legs aren’t that long.

You seem to understand the benefits - mainly extra leg room. At that price, we would do it for a flight ~3 hrs or longer. We would not do it for a 2 hr flight.

Our family of 3 is traveling soon—DH, teen, and myself—on a 3 hour flight. I’m considering upgrading to Delta Comfort as it’s only $35 more a seat ($105 total) It seems the only benefits, other than slightly more space, is early boarding and quicker deplaning. It’s our annual “big” trip, so it would be a nice luxury, but I’m wondering if it’s truly worth it. (Not eligible for upgrades as we rarely fly Delta and don’t have points nor are we members.)
