I just always try to do the right thing without worrying about the consequences of that

Generally, yes. I do what is right for me - which usually means being the kind of person I want to be, taking actions I won't regret later, intentionally taking the high road, etc...

Very much driven by how I feel in my own skin - what I will regret least. Doesn't mean I'm a pushover, but I try to live my life by a pretty honorable code.

+1 but for me it means that I remember ...
I then react to and treat people as they did (or did not) to me

My high road and doing the right thing means setting an example for my children of taking no crap from anyone if they purposely hurt me.

I like to take the high road and don’t let someone else’s actions turn me into the a-hole. Plus I like to keep my conscience clear.

The “right thing” is not the thing you’d want them to do for you. I’d argue that it’s actually irrelevant.

The right thing is the protecting yourself while doing the least amount of harm to them. What that means is entirely based on your situation.

And protecting yourself can mean different things in different contexts and points in time. But it’s entirely based on what you needs and capacity is.

I do what's right for me. I have my own morals, values, and ethics and I have to live with my actions and myself.

I match energy. So I guess that means I’d go low, unapologetically.

What? Try being less vague.

Will you "do the right thing" to those who deeply wronged and hurt you? By "doing the right thing", I mean if you were in their situation, things you would want them to do for you. Or would you go low when they go low?
