I’d love a pair of Smartwool socks for that price range.

For that low $ amount, a consumable--olive oil, sparkling wine or a ready made cocktail, fancy chocolate, etc.

I have a friend like this too. What makes it hard is she is sooo picky! I'm doing a gift bag with a spicy novel (by christina lauren) and a few items that match the novel theme.

Does she enjoy reading? I love receiving books as gifts.
Specialty olive oils or spices
Nice socks (socks are something I hate having to buy for myself. Maybe I'm a weirdo for loving getting them as gifts)

There’s an artists co-op in the Kentlands that has handmade, reasonably priced gifts. Lots if holiday things like ornaments, etc.

You could make it more personalized based on her favorite things, but otherwise, a gorgeously scented candle, luxe socks, hand cream, an ornament, a framed photo of you both, etc, plus a beautiful card with a heartfelt note would make a lovely gift. If you buy from a local gift shop, they might also gift wrap it for you. It really is the thought that counts.

Bottle of prosecco
Puzzle
I second hand lotions and tea.
(not coffee beans unless you know they use them)
If you are buying in person, try to go to a small shop. Doesn't really matter what you buy but you can also mention that it's "local"
Lots of people love that.
(not penzeys I'm so sick of their shilling on here)

If you were receiving a small gift from a close friend for Christmas (think $20-30) what would you want?
Not giving/receiving is not really an option. Gift giving is her love language and she ALWAYS gets me something. I can't show up empty handed. Please help, I'm so terrible at gifts. Local suggestions only please, I don't have time for ordering and shipping.
