It really depends on how the school views his progress. It's much easier to get an SLS class than nonpublic. If school agrees he's making minimal progress, you might be successful asking yourself at an IEP meeting. But a lawyer/advocate might be helpful in presenting the data most effectively.

To get to an SLS class, he needs 20 hours. I would try to advocate for that now, instead of the middle ground of 15. But he'll likely need to switch schools, so if you don't want to do that in the middle of the year, trying 15 hours for the spring semester and then advocating for 20 in May or June would work too

He has dyscalculia as well. Sorry I wrote dysgraphia twice.

How long does it take to move my kid from a gen Ed class to SLS class. He was receiving 12hrs of services to now 15hrs of service? He has dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysgraphia and ADHD inattentive. We are currently in 4th grade in a DCPS.
