Don’t think so. I wish I had taken screenshots. It had the Options A-D they have already shown us, plus an Option E, with the ability to make comments on each one just like the main boundary study. It left Westfield at like 60% capacity, which seems like that means it was a work in progress not (yet) meant for public consumption. But it had most if not all of Lees Corner going to Western with Rt 50 being the edge of the boundary, with none of Oakton or South Lakes going.

It's incredibly annoying to pitch this school to kids who have no realistic chance of being in boundary for Western.

What is wrong with these people? Why can't they act like adults, establish a boundary now, and work towards getting Western ready ASAP to accommodate freshmen through juniors so it's a real school from its inception?

The video was 10 minutes long, there wasn’t much there. They didn’t take any questions when they played it at Carson. It won’t take up the whole period.

And you can tell your kid that they did not attend a school that will be in boundary so they can’t go. Point to the classes they can take at their current HS and play up the presence of sports and how there won’t be any construction. It will be fine.

Maybe your kid does, but most kids don't even use Advisory effectively, so it's not a big deal for them to go hear about the new school instead of playing games or wandering the halls when they claim they're using the bathroom. My kids and their friends have told me what most kids do during Advisory, and it's not homework.

I dont understand why so many people on this board are so upset about their kids possibly going to the new school. It's so weird how bent out of shape so many people here are about it.

PP from above. I'm interested because the school is in my area, but I was feeling a bit relieved that we weren't in the proposed boundary for the new HS. I would be jazzed if South Lakes and Hughes were apart. But we've done ES at Terraset, going to Hughes next year. It would be so stupid to then go any other school than South Lakes. But it would nice for the Reston people who hate IB to have an option.

They got it at Hughes? That's the first I've heard of Reston being in the mix. I know people have been arguing about the Fox Mill area that goes to South Lakes but most of Hughes boundary is straight up Reston and Hughes and South Lakes share the same campus. Maybe it's to appeal to those who want AP and can opt in?

Even if we wanted to opt in we wouldn’t, because I’d be stuck driving my child all 4 years. Absolutely not.

This is such bull, I agree with you, OP. Litterally just find out the boundaries of this school instead of getting kids exited and wanting to opt in.

I’m annoyed. Students at Franklin will not be able to get any work done tomorrow in advisory because of this. Are they trying to get the kids excited and then go home and beg their parents to opt them in to the new school because Reid and the school board can’t figure out the boundaries? This is bullsh&t! Why would kids who aren’t even zoned to it have to miss their advisory and listen to this crap? Here’s part of the email we got on Friday:
