Mariastella Serrano at Medstar is a fantastic pediatric gastro. She is warm and thorough.

My DD (ASD, ADHD, 17 years old) has been struggling with (what we think is) laryngeal reflux for about a year, and despite medication, significant weight loss, and eliminating all trigger foods it has not gone away. We had an endoscopy at Children's hospital about 2 years ago (she was being tested for Celiac before the reflux became an issue) that revealed unexplained yeast in her esophagus and nothing else, and a vocal cord specialist suspects laryngeal reflux because her vocal cords are irritated. We didn't have a great experience at Children's (very impersonal and narrowly focused), but she wants to have another endoscopy to see if the yeast is still there or if there is anything else going on.

Any recommendations of where to go? We are in Montgomery County Maryland
