A 13 year old dating a 14 year old? Is the question about whether she should be dating? Because there’s nothing inappropriate about their age difference

You need more information from DD about the relationship if she’s spending time alone with him. You don’t need to meet the parents at this stage. What you hear from her about this kid/how they met will determine whether or not you allow it. DD went on some double date like outings when she was a freshman, but the boys were also freshman. Would not have allowed that in 8th grade so the grade/stage difference AND the fact that they are solo would give me real pause.

This makes no sense at all, but on the off chance this thread is real, you need to open communication with your DD. Did they meet online? Where are they hanging out and what are they doing? Etc, etc.

How do you not know how they meet up if neither is driving? Do you drop her off at the mall for example and she tells you she's meeting friends but in reality she's meeting him?

Ask her how they met. She can’t drive so how is she getting there.

8:20 again and when my son was in middle school, he started hanging out with a group of high schoolers and became best friends with one a year older than him. They met through mutual friends like I described above. Again, not dating but similar. If she met him through friends and you know where they are going and what they are doing, I would not be concerned. Different ages hang out when they get older.

Rather than worrying about the kid being in HS, what do they do, how did they meet and are they actually dating or is it innocent group things?

My DD isn’t dating but her close friends are a mix of 8th and 9th graders. Shes one of the 9th graders and it’s her middle school friends, so last year they were all in school together at the same middle school. They go out together and go to places like the mall, movies, ice skating, Starbucks.

Is it something like this?

I recently found out my 8th grade 14 yr old DD was dating a freshman at a different school should I be concerned?
