Harris Teeter meat is good. I hate the store near me parking is a zoo but I went last week looking for something Safeway was out of and got an American Wagyu (sic) steak that was better than the one from Organic Butcher.

We just got a rib roast from Harris Teeter and it was very good. We did this recipe with the "crispy exterior" option and also added a teaspoon of rosemary to the spice mix.

Thank you so much for this pointer! Got one.

My friends and I always are on watch for them each December. They freeze well too.

Anyone have a fail safe way to cook one? I don’t have a rotisserie, so just an oven recipe to get it to medium rare?

Tia!

Giant beef is terrible.

I’m generally a food snob, but i’ve been burned on expensive standing rib roasts (i’m looking at you, Organic Butcher in Mclean). Spent a criminal amount and it was flavorless. I gotta say the Giant standing rib roosts i’ve learned are really good. I always fill my freezer with about 5 of them when they go on sale after the holidays. I’m actually popping one on the rotisserie over wood tomorrow night, I’ve had it dry brining in my fridge for the last 2 nights with a garlic, herb and salt crust. sill have that on the rotisserie for a couple of hours and let me tell you, it always turns out incredible :

Quality is great, I haven’t compared pricing but you’ll probably get them cheaper on sale at a grocery store.

How are the rib roasts at costco? Quality and pricing? Hoping to get the scoop so I don’t have to brave costco if a place like Harris Teeter would suffice.
