PP is right about the condo vs hotel thing in Cayman. You don’t need the hotel experience in Cayman.

My 18 and 21 y/o kids love Cayman . . .we've been many times since before they were born. We rent a condo when we go so that we can have more space and privacy both on and off the beach.

Aside from the usual water activities, we like:

•snorkeling off the beach at cemetery beach
•checking out the caves on the north side
•spending an afternoon at rum point/starfish point
•private charter for an afternoon of snorkeling and Stingray City
•visiting the blue iguana sanctuary
•amazing Sunday brunch at Luca
•dinners at Calypso Grill and Ragazzi
•Thursday farm to table communal dinner at Cayman Cabana

TBH, I don't care for the large resorts there. It's a very safe and friendly island, and there's no reason to restrict yourself to places where you fight over pool loungers and sit on top of one another at the beach. Caribbean Club is a great property if you want hotel services with beachfront condo living.

At the Seafire, all equipment rentals are included with your resort fees. So your tweens can kayak, SUP, snorkle, banana boat, etc. to their heart's content.

There's plenty of water activities at the resort. But we also did enjoy excursions to Stingray City and snorkeling at Smith's Cove. We also went to Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park to see the blue iguanas. It's not a huge place but it was a pleasant walk.

If you pick a more central spot on SMB, the tweens may enjoy the independence of exploring a bit on their own. A condo near the Westin or staying at the Westin of Ritz are walkable to shops. We have a condo near the Ritz and my tweens love it when I send them to Foster’s for grocery items. They also like going to places by themselves and ordering lunch.

Stingray city is great - book the smallest tour you can afford, ideally private. There are some really large tourist boats out there.

Don't go to the turtle farm, its just that - a farm.

Thinking about a Grand Cayman trip with tweens and looking at the Kimpton Seafire. For those who’ve been, did your kids have enough to do beyond the pool and beach? Curious how the resort works for this age group and whether the island activities (Stingray City, snorkeling, turtle center, etc.) were appealing to older kids.
