Because there is a bigger pool of students and limited spots?
Same thing with classes. What happens if there are more students that request a class then there is room for? I mean if there is enough students maybe they can justify having two classes/periods. But what if the number is more then one classroom size but not quite big enough to justify a second class?
It won't be 3000 students. Some of Wootton's feeders will have to go to QO, QO feeders further away from QO, to Gaithersburg and Crown. They have to shuffle everything.

Nothing if I were a Gaithersburg resident zoned for Crown. My kids will get a better learning environment and at least some URM can get out of the ghetto.
Now an old school doesn't look too bad eh?
Wootton parents asked for a new building and they get it.
I hope Mcps pushes through with Option H.
This is the best solution they have come up with so far.

They should. They pay taxes too. Crown was supposed to address their overcrowding.
Mcps should make Crown the New Wootton.
Address Gaithersburg 's overcrowding and Wootton 's unsafe building issues by sending them all to Crown.
Two birds in one stone
There is no new Wootton anymore. Only another overcrowded 3000+ gigantic mediocre school.
Yeah yeah and don't forget to stratify the classes so that even though it has 3000+ kids it only teaches a subset of the AP classes, so it isn't possible to get a good education.
