Because 2 health care organizations in the city where I live (just left DC) has caused a shortage of providers in the area. Anyone good has a months long waiting list. I’d rather see one of the docs my DC provider recommend (and are menopause specialists).

Yes, mine stopped within days of starting my estradiol gel. I wonder if you're one of the few people who don't absorb it well through the skin and might need oral estrogen. They should be able to test your levels to see.

It did for me. I rarely get any night sweats now. Started HRT (estrogen patch and progesterone) about 18 months ago.

Yes, but I also ended up in the ER due to not being able to breathe properly. As soon as I stopped using the patch, I was able to breathe again.

Sounds like you need more estrogen. I’ve heard of people combining patches, like using the 0.1 patch plus another lower dose to go over 0.1.

You also might consider trying a different delivery method of progesterone, or else doing cyclically so half the time you don’t have it. Progesterone can down regulates estrogen.

HRT stopped about 99% of my night sweats. It still happens once every couple months.

I’ve been on HRT about 18 months (oral progesterone and 1 mg dose of estradiol patch). Overall, I feel like my symptoms are under control except for my night sweats. I have them 2-3 times a night, wake up drenched and then start to shiver. I don’t know what else to do because I think I’m at the upper level of the hormone doses. I recently moved and I’m on a waiting list to see a new ob/gyn. I don’t want to get a bed jet or sleep in the nude because I’m typically cold. Any suggestions? And for others with night sweats, how do you protect your mattress from the disgusting sweat?
