My mom and I share locations. She’s in her 70s and I’m in my 40s. She lives alone but is very active and drives around a lot. I only look to see where she is when I need to know (ie she’s driving to visit us).

I have no clue how often she tracks me, but I don’t care. I have nothing to hide, my life is home, work, kid’s school, Trader Joe’s 😆 If she’s obsessed with my location I don’t know about it. If she nagged me about things then I would likely stop sharing.

Her only child? What is she tracking? Friday nights when she knows her daughter is out partying or Tuesday going from gym to work and grocery store?

My friends and I all have kids that are young adults. This is more common than you realize. My android phone doesn’t have this feature so it was never an option for me.

By special, you mean she has mental issues? I doubt that's the case otherwise it would have come out in front of OP. Let's see what he says.

I could understand college kids but a grown adult of 26 yrs old. Yikes. Even the daughter has issues.

Each family has their own 'culture' surrounding tracking apps. My parents would never in a million years do this. I don't even track my college kids.

My best friend’s family is like this. The three adult sisters and their parents all have each other’s location at all times.

I think it’s weird but it works for them.

If her daughter has her own cellphone and pays for her own plan, all she has to do is turn off location sharing. If she keeps it on voluntarily, maybe she prefers to share her location with her mom. A young woman living in a city alone might want someone to know where she is, honestly. I'd probably choose a friend or a roommate over my mother at that age, but, maybe she prefers it to be her mother.

ya, something is wrong here. Has the daughter always been super needy type that she needs validation from her mother?

I would not allow my mother to do this, but I would also not have my mother paying my cell phone bill. Does the adult DD pay for her own cell phone?

If it works for them, leave it alone.

Is it normal for my GF to track location of her 26 year old daughter who lives 4 hours away. She went to school in Pittsburgh and also has a job there. Normal kid who doesn't have any weird habits(as far as I know) but her mom(my gf) tracks her all the time and see what she is doing. I understand sometimes it is good to know where your kids are for safety purposes but this is a little too much. Also, would you allow your mom to track you if you are 26?
