Because humans are not biologically programmed to be monogamous. Not men, not women. Especially not women. The only reason we ever were was, well, death and economic hardship.

Married men cheat because their wives always take them back. They just need to go to therapy and promise not to cheat again and become "better husband" and bingo all forgiven.

A wife is more likely to keep you if you cheated compared to a girlfriend. So guys out there who like to spread their seeds around get married, your odds of being forgiven are higher.

I don't know if it's true, but I heard that women are more affected mentally if they cheat compared to men.

Men will cheat and it won't be stressed over it. But women, they agonize over it? Idk

Not that many married men cheat. Some have been married before and cheated before - that's where the numbers come from. Multiple marriages with multiple cheating partners.

I don’t know any married men who cheat, but I’m a divorced woman, and in all the divorces, I know of personally cheating was not a factor at all because it didn’t happen that wasn’t the reason for the divorce.
