I just stopped exchanging gifts with my husband period.

I usually buy myself something I want around the holidays. Plus that’s the time I’m checking sales for kids clothes, socks, water bottles etc. so I look for stuff I need too. It’s a time when I replenish moisturizers, socks, and it’s an easy excuse to get nicer necessities.

My husband is thoughtless about gifts and Igor sick of pretending to be grateful for last minute he’d buy at Costco a couple days before Christmas.

No. Sometimes if there is something in particular I'd like, I'll steer him in that direction. I wanted some new sunglasses so mentioned that but he picked them out. For Christmas we tend to just do stocking stuffers and then do a weekend away together as our gift. DH is pretty good about picking out make up, skin care, little things for my hobbies or work, and little things for the house to go in my stocking.

My husband and I give each other suggestions for any gift-giving holiday (Christmas, birthdays, anniversary). We also often come up with stuff on our own, it just depends on whether we have a good idea or not. We have been together for 15 years so we're decent and knowing what the other person might want, and also we are well beyond any stage where one of us is going to pretend to love something we don't want. If one of us gets it wrong, we don't have ego about it and it's fine if they decide to return or exchange it.

But I don't buy my own gifts, no. We are adults and both have jobs -- if one of us really wants something, we can just buy it for ourselves. I don't need to buy and give it to my DH to wrap up and "give" it to me for Christmas.

No, but we don't really get each other presents for Christmas or birthdays.

Same except I usually give it to him to wrap haha Gifts are definitely not a big deal here but I do usually make him something sentimental. Last year was a picture frame with shells from a favorite beach trip.

I have a list of things and each birthday and Christmas my husband picks a gift from it.

We do this -I get what i love and my hubby feels good about it. Anyone else have a tradition ?
