Very nice, although I think the stocking + gift is overkill for a GF your kid describes as casual.

All of these things are nice generic gifts

I would get her something super domestics like a kitchen or household cleaning item, and she how she reacts. If she is not enthusiastic about it, she will not make a good wife for DS, and it would be nice of you to help him see that.

Gloves would be perfect. Thoughtful but not too personal, and don’t need to know much about her taste.

Only a gift card if it is too their favorite restaurant or something specific. Fir a casual gf, I would keep it small.

No socks

No gift cards - unfriendly and cold. I like the glove idea. Or some hand lotion from bath and body works.

Maybe a also few smaller things - like a Daise body wash + lip balm, cozy socks, etc.

Ask your son what she likes!

Maybe you can get her a gift card to a place near where she lives.

Another great option could be a joint gift for her and your son. Maybe they would enjoy tickets to a play or sports game? A gift card to a fancy restaurant they have been wanting to go to?

I'd give a Starbucks gift card. It hits just the right tone of "we're not inviting you into the family but wanted you to have something to open too".

Presuming she’s not vegan, nice pair of leather gloves is a great idea.

Our son is bringing his “casual” (his words) girlfriend to Christmas this year. It will be our first time meeting her but we want to have something small for her to open along with everyone else. Any suggestions? I don’t want to go to personal (or expensive), so no jewelry. I was thinking a nice pair of gloves?
