If we learned nothing else from the shitshow of 2020… masking is always an option. And wash hands!

That’s obviously unrealistic, but that’s the science.

Wild! Our pediatrician said child can return to school once fever free for 24 hours.

Yes, but it doesn’t cover EVERY mutation

I was wondering if they got the right mutation this year.

I would see them in that scenario. Benefits obviously weigh the possible (and more remote) downsides to me.

10 days is more than enough especially considering flu is often like covid these days- you only know you have it if you test for it. And a lot of times it can mimic just any run of the mill illness (not saying it isn't dangerous - just that it has a wide range of symptoms and we are all probably exposed a lot more than we realize).

Just had flu in my household. Guidance we followed for school was fever-free for 24 hr + feeling well enough to go. Cough lingered mildly for another week.

Yes and for the future: if you are caring for a flu positive person you can often get a prophylactic dose of Tamiflu to reduce your chances of catching it.

Are people getting the flu vaccine?

10 days ago, yes? Sniffles can last weeks! Especially in dry, cold air.

Yes I would.

Odds are high you've been exposed to the same germs in other settings. Unless you are isolating from the entire world it doesn't make sense to not see this person.

Ten days and symptoms are almost gone? I think that’s totally fine.

Would you do a close-proximity indoor activity with a family member who came down with the flu 10 days ago and is all better aside from a mild sniffle and occasional cough?
