What does the age of 32 have to do with it? Could it be that a club took too many kids who already qualified for another championships meet next week?

Good evening everyone,
On behalf of Fairland Sports and Aquatics Complex, we hear you! We were unaware the full scope of potential attendees. As mentioned above, we too were told 350. We tried our best to accommodate the overflow and resulting challenges as best we would, real time, without having to shutdown the meet entirely.
Safety is our paramount focus and mission. Moving forward, we are introducing additional steps to better vet our potential renters and hold them accountable.
Please, do not hesitate to reach out to us directly with any additional concerns. We are here to serve our community with integrity, and welcome all feedback so we can continue to approve.
Thank you,
Matthew Wade, Aquatics Venue Manager

There are also dozens of spectator chairs set up all over the place, including in the lobby, in the handicapped audience area, in the alcoves... and the meet sanction says explicitly that these will not be allowed. If that rule was actually sustained I suspect that more people would wait in their cars rather than in the building... or that the hosts would allow many fewer entries.

Then that's a host club problem for violating the sanction-- not a PVS issue.

The sanction from PVS says only 350 athletes and 250 spectators per session. Is that being followed?

PVS is responsible for this fiasco as well.

It’s all a money grab.
Report it to the fire marshall.

Christmas Champs is a money grab. They could easily limit the number of entries but then they’d get less money.

If the facility is looking the other way, the fire marshal is the only person who can help.

I've had the same concerns and so am grateful to OP for posting. I'm not historically a whistleblower but it really does feel like this debacle should be shut down. The meet organizers are accepting too many entries for the facility. Kids are running wild, public spaces are unsafe, stairs and walkways are blocked, and our session ran a solid 30 minutes behind the timeline, with prelims merging almost directly into warmups for finals. This is not OK.

There has to be a good explanation for this!

What is there to do about obviously too many people at Christmas Champs at Fairland? I have never seen such obvious overcrowding in a public building. In addition, no one is enforcing basic rules like not blocking exits, keeping stairs clear. People set up chairs in walkways and on the steps. So many kids on deck that they could not get the Lifeguard attention for a very bad bloody nose on deck. And then they put some teams outside in crowded tents where they had to sit or stand on frozen ground.
