The math doesn't add up. A 26 year old who works full time plus overtime in a good job and has been privileged enough to be using parents' vehicles and health insurance should have money.

Sounds like your kid has addiction or other problems. He sounds unstable and like all his money from his job is going somewhere else.

He scared the absolute shit out of me coming into my dark bedroom with just his phone, I heard the dogs barking but they know who he is and I just thought it was my daughter coming home from her job as a vet tech at an animal hospital where she works 4-midnight 3 days a week.

He said he didn't want to scare me and I just said, next time just open the door and yell MOM IT'S Me JOE instead of just creeping up the stairs. That would startle me but that's better than just silently entering the bedroom with a phone for light.

IDK we haven't done this before. I've never heard him say, "I just need calories for right now"

Like that's crazy to me and I'm typing here instead of unloading on his dad at near midnight because he already thinks I am crazy

He has a good job as an ER nurse but his 14 yr old jacked up big tire car he inherited from his dad died and he's having to uber to the hospital and back to work. $140 a day

I don't even want to itemize it but his dad lives in a penthouse with his girlfriend and they have spent probably 60K on vacations in the past year. 100K if you go back 2 years. There's another one coming up in January. A 40K viking cruise trip or something.

My one son is currently doing uber to work and back. His 14 yo car inherited from his Dad died. Same week as my daughter rolled over a truck (she is unharmed, the truck is dead). We need 2 new vehicles that drive STAT

The nurse son came by tonight and asked for some food. His friends drove him. I gave him a box with a package of hot dogs, buns, a big package of frozen pizza bites, some cans of hearty soup, sleeves of saltines, some cans of deviled ham, a jar of peanut butter. A 2L bottle of full sugar soda from when the grocery place thought it was funny to send me full sugar soda when I ordered diet. I guess.

He said his allowance wasn't letting him buy food and he'd been scrounging food from work.

First time he stopped by and actually asked me at 11pm on a Saturday, mom I can't afford to buy food can I get some groceries from you.

Like that should not happen. He should be able to buy a pizza.
